2016 Lamborghini Aventador is attending to its consumer base with just what they’ve been begging for – the same reliable Lamborghini style and punch, with the option to put the top down in a Roadster version of the Superveloce line. The debut of the 2016 Lamborghini Aventador Roadster was leaked a bit in January, but the car made its real entrance with quite a bit of style and splash at the Geneva auto show this year.
2016 Lamborghini Aventador Roadster Exterior and InteriorDesign changes in the body of 2016 Lamborghini Aventador Roadster have primarily been to accommodate a more aerodynamic design, although there are new doors and rocker panels that give the car a flaming hot post-apocalyptic vibe. Lamborghini claims that the reduction in drag due to the redesign is a staggering 170 percent.
Assuming this is accurate, that factor is going to have an incredible impact on fuel economy, especially when combined with the increased aero efficiency of about 150 percent. The weight of 2016 Lamborghini Aventador Roadster was brought down by just over one hundred pounds in this refit, largely binte recasting some of the body components in lighter and more durable carbon fiber.Of course, there’s an argument to be made that this is a stylistic evolution and not one grounded in extreme substance.
Dropping the top on 2016 Lamborghini Aventador Roadster that can hit a high 186 MPH in 24 seconds sounds like a recipe for an amazing ride. That’s not the only stylistic component Lamborghini changed with this year’s Roadster release, although it’s certainly the one getting the most press. The micro suede interior is going to be surprisingly easy to maintain and the Carbon Skin headliner and other cockpit upholstery will no doubt hold up well over time and rougher-than-average conditions.
This is the debut vehicle for Carbon Skin, and it will be interesting to see how the new technology makes its way into other production cars down the cost spectrum. The accent color in the race-designed interior is yellow, and everything down to the gauges on the dash have been put together with an impressive, and unsurprising, attention to detail. A g-force meter is even there, at the bottom of the panel, just in case.
2016 Lamborghini Aventador Roadster Engine While it’s tempting to write off the Roadster as an Aventador with a new outfit, there is actually a fair bit to appreciate in some of the mods Lamborghini brings to the drive experience. Bringing more power to the road is part of what the audience expects, and Lamborghini didn’t let us down. The motor is pushing 740 horsepower at 8400 RPM, and 509 foot-pounds of torque at 5500 RPM.
2016 Lamborghini Aventador Roadster PriceA callback to the highest of the high end power and design released in 2013, the 2016 Lamborghini Aventador Roadster brings the 2013 Veneno’s ability to hit zero-to-sixty in 2.8 seconds from the stratospheric pricing sphere down to the vaguely more affordable half-million dollar mark.
2016 Lamborghini Aventador Roadster is not for the masses, but the technology has evolved and costs have lined up a little bit in the last three years.
