The Skoda Scala opens a new era for the Czech manufacturer. The replacement of Rapid introduces the brand's new slogan: "Simply surprising" instead of "Simply smart",
A change that incidentally shows the willingness of Skoda to go on the market. So much so that the manufacturer now proudly displays its name at the rear of the vehicle. On the other hand, it embodies the new visual identity that will be available to all future models, namely the urban SUV (Kosmiq?) And the Octavia 2019, the electric SUV 2020 and the new Fabia 2021. A style based on the Vision RS Mondial de Paris was discovered, a concept that comes very close to the Scala, and we tried a prototype in October (read our essay).
As expected, it is faithful to the concept and shows elegance and modernity, especially with the rectangular touchpad on top. Depending on the version, the size varies between 6.5 and 9.2 inches and includes all functions, if not the independently operable air conditioning control. Another novelty, the Virtual cockpit (digital instrumentation) in front of the driver.
No doubt, the style of this cabin should refer to the aforementioned future models. This is suggested by Skoda by claiming this "La Scala is the first model to receive our new interiors", In addition to on-board technology, the interior is enhanced by superior perceived quality through the use of foamed coatings on the top of the dashboard and door panels.
As we've seen in the Vision RS concept, the design is also evolving toward more dynamics, especially when front and rear signatures are being machined and the lines on the hood are more pronounced. What can one guess about the new pictures, in which the body work of La Scala graffiti artists served as a model?
